Authorities have released additional information regarding a single-vehicle crash that occurred Tuesday afternoon in Harlem. According to the Columbia County Coroner’s Office, the incident took place at the intersection of Wrightsboro Road and Rabbit Run Road at approximately 2:38 p.m.

Coroner Terry Norman identified the individual involved as 62-year-old Michael McNair of Dearing.

Officials said emergency responders transported McNair to Doctors Hospital of Augusta for medical treatment following the crash. Despite those efforts, he was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Authorities have not released further details about what may have led to the crash. It has not been publicly disclosed whether any other vehicles were involved, and no additional injuries have been reported at this time.

The Columbia County Coroner’s Office confirmed that an autopsy has been scheduled as part of the standard process to determine the official cause of death.
