Nikita McGriff Obituary, Death – One individual was declared deceased following a shooting incident that occurred in Albany during the early hours of June 7, as reported by the Albany Police Department (APD). The APD has identified two additional individuals as persons of interest and is soliciting assistance from the public in locating them.
The shooting victim, identified as 41-year-old Nikita McGriff, was found with gunshot wounds in the 500 block of 9th Avenue, according to the APD. Officials stated that upon their arrival at the scene, McGriff was discovered with injuries from gunfire. Shortly thereafter, McGriff was pronounced dead at the hospital, as confirmed by Dougherty County Coroner Michael Fowler.
Subsequently, the APD released photographs and descriptions of two persons of interest connected to this homicide investigation. Shayla Angelica Carter, aged 41, is one of the individuals of interest identified by the APD. According to the department, Carter’s last known residence is located in the 700 block of North Madison Street.
The second person of interest is Torrance Sherard Morgan, aged 43. Law enforcement officials indicated that Morgan’s last known address is situated in the 1400 block of Palmyra Road. No additional information has been disclosed by the police department at this time. WALB is actively seeking further details.
The police department has stated that their Criminal Investigative Bureau is persistently collecting information regarding this case.
