Patricia Lynn Warren Obituary, Death – A woman lost her life and a man was hospitalized following a car crash in Galesville, Maryland, according to police reports. Authorities identified the woman who died as 61-year-old Patricia Lynn Warren from Shady Side. The fatal collision occurred around 12:14 p.m. on Saturday at the intersection of Muddy Creek Road and Old Sudley Road.
According to initial findings, Warren was behind the wheel of a 2008 Toyota Prius traveling north on Muddy Creek Road. At the same time, a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, driven by a 20-year-old man, was heading south along the same roadway. Police say the Toyota crossed the center double-yellow line for unknown reasons and collided head-on with the oncoming Chevrolet.
Emergency crews from the Anne Arundel County Fire Department were quickly dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, responders found Warren unresponsive and pronounced her dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash.
The driver of the Chevrolet sustained injuries but survived. Medics transported him to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for further treatment. Officials said he is expected to recover from his injuries.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department shared a map detailing the location of the crash, confirming it happened in the Galesville area along Muddy Creek Road, a two-lane road with limited visibility in some areas. The map highlighted the intersection with Old Sudley Road, where the collision occurred.
Investigators have not yet released a definitive explanation for why Warren’s vehicle veered into oncoming traffic. It is not yet known whether weather, speed, distraction, or a medical event played a role. The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, and police have not indicated whether charges or citations are expected.
Residents in the area have noted that Muddy Creek Road can be dangerous, particularly in sections with curves and limited shoulders. Saturday’s crash adds to a growing number of serious incidents reported on that stretch of road in recent years.
Police have not disclosed the identity of the injured pickup truck driver but confirmed that he was alone in his vehicle at the time of the crash. Likewise, no passengers were reported in Warren’s car.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department is asking any witnesses who may have seen the crash or the moments leading up to it to contact their Traffic Safety Section.
