Recovery efforts resumed Saturday morning once conditions improved. With the assistance of trained search teams, including K9 units and aerial support, authorities were able to locate and recover the bodies of the two victims. The individuals were later identified as men from communities in western Washington. Their remains were transported to the county coroner’s office for official procedures.
In addition to recovering the victims, responders also secured equipment and personal belongings from the area to ensure nothing was left behind. Officials noted that such recoveries are handled carefully, particularly in hazardous environments, to minimize further risk.
The sheriff’s office expressed sympathy to the families, friends, and loved ones affected by the incident, acknowledging the deep impact such events have on both the community and first responders.
