Rasheid Lynch Obituary, Death – Philadelphia experienced a series of violent incidents involving multiple shootings and stabbings from Thursday evening, July 3, 2025, into the early hours of Friday, July 4, leaving several people injured and at least two dead.
The first incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday in the 6300 block of Revere Street. Police found a 15-year-old boy, later identified as Rasheid Lynch, fatally shot in a residential driveway. The investigation is ongoing, with no arrests made yet. The Homicide Unit is urging anyone with information to contact them at 215-686-3334.
Later that evening, at approximately 9:30 p.m., police responded to a shooting on the 9700 block of East Roosevelt Boulevard. An 18-year-old woman was shot in the left shoulder and transported to the hospital in stable condition. A 50-year-old man also sustained a graze wound to his head but declined medical treatment. No arrests have been made in connection with this incident.
At around 10 p.m., two women, aged 29 and 25, were stabbed on the 300 block of South 60th Street. Both victims were hospitalized and are currently listed in stable condition. Authorities are searching for a female suspect who was last seen wearing an orange shirt and black tights.
Just half an hour later, at about 10:30 p.m., officers were called to another shooting on the 700 block of West Butler Street. A 50-year-old man was discovered with a gunshot wound to the stomach. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The suspect in this case has been described as a masked male. No arrests have been made.
The violence continued into early Friday. Shortly before 1 a.m. on July 4, gunfire erupted on the 6000 block of Market Street, where a man and a woman were shot while sitting inside a parked car. The man died at the scene, while the woman survived with injuries. The Homicide Detectives Division is now investigating this fatal attack.
At about 4:40 a.m., police were dispatched to the 3300 block of Hartville Street, where they found a 33-year-old man with stab wounds to both arms and his abdomen. He was transported to a hospital and is now in stable condition. The suspect in this case is known to be male, but no arrest has yet been made.
Roughly an hour later, just before 6 a.m., officers responded to a hospital report of a gunshot victim. Investigators later confirmed that the incident occurred near 10th and Tioga Streets. A 44-year-old man had suffered a graze wound to his right forearm and wrist. He is currently in stable condition. Authorities have not yet identified a suspect or made an arrest.
As of now, all these incidents remain under investigation, with police continuing their efforts to identify and apprehend those responsible.
