Ravenna Leyva Obituary, Death – A 26-year-old woman, identified as Ravenna Leyva from Sylmar, tragically died after being struck by two hit-and-run drivers in North Hollywood. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed Leyva’s identity and announced that she was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department. The fatal incident occurred late Friday night on Victory Boulevard, near Colfax Avenue, just east of Van Nuys, at approximately 9:40 p.m.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), officers were dispatched to the scene after reports of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival, authorities learned that a westbound vehicle on Victory Boulevard had struck Leyva while she was walking, and the driver fled the scene without providing aid. Soon after, a second vehicle traveling in the same direction also hit Leyva and continued driving without stopping to help. Both drivers fled, leaving Leyva severely injured, and she was later pronounced dead on-site.
The first vehicle involved in the crash was identified only as a sedan, and the second vehicle was described as a light blue or gray 2003 Toyota 4Runner. Despite the description of the second vehicle, police have not yet located the suspects responsible for the incident.
The LAPD’s Valley Traffic Division is leading the investigation and has urged anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information to come forward.
