Richard Jones Obituary, Death – Authorities have identified the man who died in a shooting that took place last week in Lavaca, Arkansas. According to the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), the victim has been confirmed as 52-year-old Richard Jones of Charleston. The incident occurred on July 10 at approximately 5 p.m., when the Lavaca Police Department received a report of a shooting in the 1500 block of Highway 96 East.

When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital for emergency care, but he later succumbed to his injuries.

The SCSO announced on Monday that Jones had been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for a full autopsy to determine the precise cause and manner of death.

At this time, no suspects have been taken into custody, and no charges have been filed in connection with the shooting. However, investigators from the sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division have already conducted several interviews and have more planned as part of their ongoing efforts to understand what happened and who may be responsible.
