Robert Adams Obituary, Death – The Maryland Office of the Attorney General’s Independent Investigations Division (IID) has identified the individual and officers involved in a recent police-related incident in Dundalk, Maryland, that resulted in the death of a local resident.
Officials confirmed that the man who lost his life was 55-year-old Robert Adams, a resident of Dundalk. The IID also named six officers from the Baltimore County Police Department (BCPD) who were involved in the event. All six officers are part of the department’s Operations Bureau.
The officers include:
- Police Officer First Class Andrew Meyer, who has served for six years
- Police Officer First Class Malik McLaughlin, also with six years of service
- Police Officer First Class Austin Kiss, with four years of experience
- Police Officer First Class Nicholas Cook, who has been with the department for three years
- Officer Mason Rice, with one year of service
- Officer Luke Eubert, who also has one year of service
According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred on October 8 at approximately 8:30 p.m., when officers responded to the 2100 block of Larkhall Road following multiple calls about possible gunfire in the area. When officers arrived, they reportedly observed Robert Adams inside his residence, standing at a second-floor window.
Authorities stated that during the interaction, Adams’ actions prompted officers to discharge their weapons. A tactical response team was then called to the location, leading to a barricade situation that lasted for several hours.
Roughly two hours after the initial exchange, officers entered the home and discovered Adams inside, suffering from gunshot injuries. Emergency medical personnel were called, but despite their efforts, Adams was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Officials also confirmed that two firearms were recovered from inside the residence, close to the window where officers had first seen Adams. Investigators are now working to determine the full sequence of events that led up to the tragic outcome.
Authorities emphasized that no officers or members of the public were physically harmed during the incident. As is standard practice in such cases, all six officers involved have been placed on administrative leave while the investigation continues.
The Independent Investigations Division—an office within the Maryland Attorney General’s department tasked with examining police-involved fatalities—is now leading the inquiry.
