Robert Kowal Obituary, Death – A deadly crash in Limestone County led to the temporary closure of parts of Highway 251 on Tuesday, according to Alabama State Troopers. The collision involved three vehicles and occurred near Wooley Springs Road. Limestone County Coroner Mike West confirmed that one person was killed and three others were injured as a result of the wreck.
The deceased was identified as 45-year-old Robert Kowal of Athens. Emergency crews responded to the scene quickly, and all lanes near mile marker 10 on Highway 251 were shut down to allow for rescue and cleanup operations. The road has since been reopened to traffic.
Authorities have not released additional details about the condition of the injured individuals or the cause of the crash. State Troopers are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
