On Saturday, January 4, a fatal two-vehicle crash occurred in Tangipahoa Parish, claiming the life of Roderick E. Brumfield, 60, according to the Louisiana State Police. The crash happened around 4 p.m. on Highway 16 near Dummyline Road.
Investigators found that Brumfield was driving a Chevrolet Silverado eastbound on Highway 16 when his vehicle crossed the centerline for reasons still under investigation. This action led to a head-on collision with a Chevrolet Equinox traveling westbound on the same road.
Brumfield, who was properly restrained, died at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver of the Equinox, along with four passengers, sustained serious injuries. The Louisiana State Police are continuing their investigation into the cause of the crash.
