Rossana Iodice Obituary, Death – The city of Denton is grieving after the tragic loss of a beloved neighbor and baker who was killed in a car crash Friday night near the intersection of West Windsor and Northway. The victim has been identified as 58-year-old Rossana Iodice, remembered by family, friends, and community members as a kindhearted woman who touched many lives.
According to police, the suspect involved in the fatal crash is 22-year-old Noah Kendrick. He has been charged with intoxication manslaughter and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Records show that Kendrick has since posted bail, though the case against him remains active as investigators continue to piece together what happened.
The crash occurred just after 9 p.m., prompting multiple 911 calls from concerned neighbors. One resident, Erik Lucas, recalled the moment his wife phoned him after hearing the loud impact outside their home. Lucas, who had just left the house to drop off his grandson, said the scene was devastating.
“I saw the two vehicles, one landed in the yard and the other facing the opposite direction in the middle of the road,” Lucas explained. Police later reported that Kendrick had been traveling east on West Windsor when he struck a vehicle attempting to make a left turn onto Northway.
For Lucas and his wife, the tragedy was especially painful when they realized the car involved belonged to their longtime neighbors. “Nice, older couple,” Lucas said. “It’s just sad to know that somebody three doors down that I’ve been knowing for over 15 years, died.”
Tributes for Iodice have poured in from across the community. The Chestnut Tree, a popular restaurant on Denton Square where she worked, shared a heartfelt post on Facebook honoring her memory. The restaurant described Iodice as an “amazing cook” and a “selfless person” who was cherished by coworkers and customers alike. Dozens of friends and patrons also shared memories of her, many posting photos of the cakes she had lovingly baked for weddings, birthdays, and other special occasions. Her culinary skills, warmth, and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone she served.
As police continue to investigate the crash, speed and intoxication are both being examined as contributing factors. Neighbors, meanwhile, are raising concerns about traffic safety along West Windsor. Lucas noted that speeding is a common issue on the road, despite the posted 35 mph limit. “Driving here, especially on this inside right lane, is a major problem. And they do not go to the speed limit,” he said.
The incident has left many in the community shaken. Lucas admitted the tragedy has made him and his neighbors more cautious. “Now it’s kinda shook us up to where we’re extremely cautious on everything. It could’ve been any of us, you know. I take this way. I come three or four times a day from work, grocery store, everything,” he said.
For now, Denton mourns the loss of Rossana Iodice, a woman remembered for her kindness, her cooking, and her love of community. Her death serves as a somber reminder of the devastating consequences of reckless and impaired driving.
