Ryan Farley Obituary, Death – A fatal head-on collision involving a motorcycle occurred in Genesee County on Monday night, resulting in one death, according to the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the crash at approximately 10:05 p.m. on Route 63 in the Town of Bethany. Upon arrival, they discovered the accident had taken place as a vehicle attempted to overtake several slower-moving vehicles.
The investigation revealed that 27-year-old Marquel Kennedy, a resident of Buffalo, was attempting to pass two tractor trailers and a farm tractor while traveling on Route 63. During this maneuver, Kennedy’s vehicle collided head-on with a motorcycle heading in the opposite direction.
The motorcycle was being ridden by 40-year-old Ryan Farley from Livingston County. Farley suffered fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.
Kennedy sustained injuries in the collision and was taken to United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia for treatment. The extent of his injuries has not been publicly disclosed.
The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office reported that the crash remains under investigation. Authorities have not yet filed charges, though they noted that charges are currently pending as the case develops.
Officials are continuing to examine the circumstances that led to the collision, including whether speed, visibility, or other contributing factors played a role in the deadly crash. No additional details have been released at this time.
