Sammy Lahik Obituary, Death – The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is investigating a fatal two-car crash that occurred late Saturday night in Orange County, leaving four people dead and another seriously injured. Among the victims was Sammy Lahik, a senior at Windermere High School, as confirmed by Orange County Public Schools (OCPS).
The tragic accident took place just before 11 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of Central Florida Parkway, east of Whitley Place. Authorities reported that both vehicles involved—a 2024 Toyota Camry and a 2024 BMW M2—were traveling at high speeds when the BMW attempted to overtake the Toyota.
According to the FHP, the BMW’s driver moved from the outside lane to the inside lane in an attempt to pass the Toyota. However, as the BMW tried to merge back into the outside lane, it struck the left front side of the Toyota with its right rear side. The impact sent both vehicles off the road onto the south shoulder.
The Toyota crashed into a light pole before colliding with several trees, ejecting one of its rear-seat passengers. Meanwhile, the BMW also hit multiple trees, leading to severe damage.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found two victims dead on impact—the front-seat passenger of the Toyota and the driver of the BMW. The Toyota’s rear passenger and the BMW’s passenger were rushed to Orlando Health Dr. Phillips Hospital but later succumbed to their injuries. The Toyota’s driver also suffered serious injuries and was hospitalized.
The FHP has launched a full investigation into the crash, but authorities have not yet confirmed whether drugs, alcohol, or other factors contributed to the accident.
