Samuel Jarrett Killian Obituary, Death – A fatal motorcycle crash occurred in Alexander County on Friday, March 28, claiming the life of 35-year-old Samuel Jarrett Killian from Taylorsville.
The accident took place around 5:40 p.m. at the intersection of NC 16 and Millersville Road. According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Killian was riding a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on NC 16 when he attempted to turn left onto Millersville Road. As he made the turn, his motorcycle crossed into the path of a northbound 2007 Audi A4, resulting in a collision.
The impact of the crash ejected both Killian and his passenger from the motorcycle. Killian succumbed to his injuries at the scene. His passenger sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to a hospital for emergency medical treatment. The driver of the Audi was unharmed.
Authorities stated that neither speed nor impairment appeared to be factors in the crash. As part of the investigation, officials closed the roadway for approximately two hours. Since no criminal activity was involved, no charges will be filed.
