Sandra Townsend Obituary, Death – A tragic house fire early Monday morning claimed the life of a 69-year-old woman in Pine Bluff. Authorities reported that emergency crews responded to the blaze at 1307 South Cypress Street shortly after 3 a.m.
According to the Pine Bluff Fire and Emergency Services Department, a call came in at 3:04 a.m. describing a “house fire with entrapment,” indicating that someone might still be inside the burning home. Firefighters quickly rushed to the scene.
Upon their arrival, firefighters encountered a serious fire already raging in the front room of the house. Outside the residence, the victim’s husband had managed to escape the flames before emergency personnel arrived. He informed responders that his wife was still trapped inside the home.
