Authorities in Delaware County are searching for the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred late Friday night in Chester Heights Borough.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police, troopers were dispatched around 11:45 p.m. on March 6, 2026, to the area of Baltimore Pike near Red Roof Drive after receiving reports of a crash involving a pedestrian.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man lying in the northbound travel lanes of Baltimore Pike. Authorities later identified the victim as Steven Hulsey.
Emergency medical personnel transported Hulsey to a nearby hospital for treatment. Despite the efforts of first responders and medical staff, police say he later died from his injuries.
Investigators say the vehicle involved in the crash left the area before troopers arrived. According to preliminary information released by police, the vehicle is believed to be a light-colored SUV or crossover that was last seen traveling northbound on Baltimore Pike.
Law enforcement officials are continuing to investigate the incident and are working to locate the driver. At this time, no additional details about the vehicle or driver have been released.
