Teveen Hemphill – A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a body was discovered inside a burning vehicle in San Bernardino County. The incident took place on June 9 in Adelanto, a city located in the Victor Valley region of the county.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, a deputy from the Victor Valley Station noticed a thick column of smoke rising near the intersection of El Mirage Road and Vinton Road. Responding to the scene to investigate, the deputy found a sedan that was completely engulfed in flames.

Firefighters were immediately dispatched to the location to extinguish the blaze. Once the fire was brought under control, emergency crews found a male victim in the front seat of the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities launched a homicide investigation to determine the cause of the fire and identify both the victim and any potential suspects. Through the course of the investigation, detectives identified 60-year-old Teveen Hemphill of Adelanto as the prime suspect in the case.

The following day, on June 10, Hemphill was located in Adelanto and taken into custody without incident. He was arrested on suspicion of murder. Law enforcement has not disclosed any information about the possible motive for the crime or whether Hemphill and the victim had any prior relationship.

As of now, the identity of the deceased male has not been made public, pending official identification by the coroner and notification of next of kin.
