Theresa Marie Poffenberger Obituary, Death – A fatal crash in Hagerstown on Wednesday morning has led to an ongoing investigation by local authorities. The incident occurred at around 4 a.m. at the intersection of Halfway Boulevard and Interstate 81, where an SUV collided with the rear of a tractor-trailer.
Hagerstown Police Department (HPD) officers arrived at the scene shortly after the crash, finding the SUV’s driver unresponsive. First responders immediately began administering CPR in an effort to revive the driver, but unfortunately, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The deceased driver was later identified as 64-year-old Theresa Marie Poffenberger, a resident of Hagerstown. According to police reports, the driver of the tractor-trailer, who was involved in the collision, was uninjured.
