Thurmon Joseph Obituary, Death – A man who was fatally shot earlier this week in Algiers has been officially identified by the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office. Authorities confirmed on Thursday that the victim was 33-year-old Thurmon Joseph.

The New Orleans Police Department reported that officers discovered Joseph’s body just before 2 a.m. in the 3500 block of General De Gaulle Drive. He had sustained a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

After further investigation, detectives concluded that the actual shooting occurred about a mile away in the 1300 block of Southlawn Boulevard. It appears that Joseph was either moved or transported from the location where the shooting happened to General De Gaulle Drive, which is where officers responded to the initial emergency call.

Details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting, including a possible motive or suspect, have not yet been released by law enforcement. The New Orleans Police Department continues to investigate the incident and has not announced any arrests or persons of interest at this time.
