Due to the severity of his condition, he was then airlifted to a hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Despite medical efforts, he passed away from his injuries the following day, July 16.

Butler County Coroner Jim Akers confirmed Alexander’s identity and expressed condolences to the grieving family. He also urged the community to keep them in their thoughts and prayers during this devastating time.

According to troopers from the Highway Patrol, neither Alexander nor the teenage operator of the boat was wearing a life jacket at the time of the accident.
