Uriel Morales Obituary, Death – A tragic multi-vehicle crash on Sunday night north of Soledad claimed the life of one person and left another with severe injuries. Authorities have identified the deceased as 25-year-old Uriel Morales of Salinas, according to the Monterey County Coroner’s Office.
Details of the Crash
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the crash involved three vehicles on southbound Highway 101, just north of Front Street. The first reports of the accident came in at approximately 7:44 p.m., though investigators are still working to determine the exact sequence of events leading up to the collision.
One of the victims was ejected from a vehicle and died at the scene, while another individual was also ejected and sustained major injuries. That person was transported to a hospital for urgent medical care.
Other Occupants and Injuries
A second vehicle involved in the crash was carrying four people, including two children in the rear seats. Fortunately, CHP confirmed that all four occupants of that vehicle are expected to recover without serious harm.
The third vehicle in the crash had two people inside. One suffered minor injuries, while the other was not hurt.
Ongoing Investigation
Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident, including whether speed, impairment, or other factors played a role. CHP is urging anyone who witnessed the crash or has relevant information to contact them.
The incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of high-speed roadways and the importance of seatbelt use, as ejections from vehicles often lead to severe or fatal injuries. As investigators work to piece together the details, the community mourns the loss of Morales while hoping for the recovery of those injured.
