Nicole D. Guzman Obituary, Death: The Northampton County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim of a fatal car crash that occurred on William Penn Highway early Sunday morning. The woman who lost her life has been named as 35-year-old Nicole D. Guzman, a resident of Easton.
Guzman was a passenger in a vehicle that left the roadway and crashed into trees near the intersection with Chipman Road, according to Coroner Zachary Lysek. Guzman died at the scene from blunt force injuries, and her death has been ruled as accidental.
The crash occurred around 2 a.m. when a township police officer, who was on patrol, discovered the wreckage. The vehicle involved in the accident was a Nissan Altima, which was traveling eastbound on William Penn Highway. The car crossed into the opposing lane before crashing into two trees located on the north side of the road.
The driver of the vehicle, a 31-year-old man from Easton whose identity has not been released, was also injured and taken to the hospital. Both Guzman and the driver were trapped inside the wreckage, and emergency responders had to extricate them from the vehicle.
