The car was being driven by 52-year-old William Pearson of Everton. Investigators say Pearson was traveling east on Causeway Road when he entered a curve and crossed over the center line. His vehicle then collided head-on with a westbound semi-truck driven by 26-year-old Joseph McDonald of Connersville.
Pearson was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of the collision. A passenger in Pearson’s car sustained injuries and had to be freed from the wreckage by emergency crews. Officials reported that the passenger’s injuries were not life-threatening. The individual was transported to the UC Medical Center for further treatment.
The driver of the semi-truck, Joseph McDonald, was not injured in the crash, authorities confirmed.
