Xavier Egger Obituary, Death – A fatal crash occurred late Wednesday night in Woodbury, New York, claiming the life of a 19-year-old passenger. According to New York State Police, the crash happened at around 10:53 p.m. on Route 6. Troopers from the State Police Monroe station responded to the scene, where they discovered a single-vehicle collision at the Long Mountain traffic circle.

Investigators determined that a 2017 Nissan, traveling east at high speed, failed to navigate the curve properly. Instead of following the roadway, the car went straight through the center of the traffic circle and crashed into a tree.

The vehicle had three occupants, all from Stony Point. The driver, 43-year-old Steffany C. Egger, was accompanied by two passengers: 19-year-old Xavier Egger in the back seat and a 21-year-old man in the front passenger seat. Emergency responders extricated all three individuals from the wreckage.

Steffany Egger and the 21-year-old passenger were treated at the scene by paramedics before being transported to Westchester Medical Center. Authorities stated that their injuries were not life-threatening. However, Xavier Egger, the back-seat passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of his injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Authorities are working to determine whether factors such as speed, road conditions, or driver impairment played a role.

State Police have urged any witnesses to come forward with information that could assist in the investigation. Anyone who may have seen the accident is asked to contact the State Police Monroe Bureau of Criminal Investigation at 845-344-5300.

This tragic accident highlights the dangers of speeding, especially on curved roadways. Authorities continue to remind drivers to exercise caution and adhere to speed limits to prevent similar incidents.
