Authorities in Bexar County have announced felony charges against five individuals following a coordinated undercover operation aimed at tackling suspected online exploitation. According to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, the operation was carried out in partnership with federal agencies, including the United States Secret Service, at a local hotel.

Sheriff Javier Salazar said several suspects allegedly believed they were communicating online with underage individuals, but were instead interacting with undercover officers. Investigators reported that one suspect traveled from another city under that assumption, while another journeyed from the Houston area.

During the investigation, authorities said they recovered illegal substances and digital evidence from one suspect’s residence. Officials also confirmed that one of the individuals had been employed as a probationary firefighter but was dismissed following the arrest.

Two additional suspects were reportedly involved in separate alleged activities related to solicitation involving adults. Law enforcement officials emphasized that widely used online platforms are often monitored in such operations but declined to specify details for investigative reasons.
