Authorities in Kansas City are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred early Sunday morning at a nightclub on Southwest Boulevard.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies working off duty near W. 28th Street and Southwest Boulevard just after 2 a.m. heard gunfire coming from inside the nightclub. Responding officers found multiple victims inside the establishment.
Three adult women were injured in the incident. Emergency personnel declared one woman deceased at the scene. The other two were transported to a nearby hospital, where one later died from her injuries. The deceased have been identified as 29-year-old Eboni Silas and 24-year-old Tishauna Ballard. The third woman sustained injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
A fourth victim, a male, arrived at a hospital via private vehicle and is reported to be in critical condition.
Preliminary reports indicate that an interaction inside the nightclub led to the shooting, but authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances. No suspects have been taken into custody at this time.
Law enforcement officials are asking anyone who was at the nightclub during the incident and has not yet spoken with officers to contact detectives
