Authorities have confirmed the arrest of a 59-year-old suspect following a fatal shooting that occurred on Wednesday, April 22, at a business in North Jackson.
According to a statement from the Mississippi Department of Public Safety, Capitol Police officers responded to reports of an incident at a liquor store located on East Northside Drive around 12:23 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered an individual who had lost his life at the scene.
Officials have identified the victim as 50-year-old Marcus Clay of Canton. The Hinds County Coroner’s Office stated that further medical examinations will be conducted as part of standard procedures to document findings and support the ongoing investigation.
The suspect, identified as Henry Brown, has been taken into custody and is facing a murder charge in connection with the case. Authorities have not released additional details at this time, noting that the investigation remains active.
