A 27-year-old resident of Olivehurst was taken into custody early Wednesday morning following a vehicle collision with a building in Yuba City. The Yuba City Police Department responded to reports of the crash near the intersection of B Street and Clark Avenue.
According to law enforcement, the driver attempted to flee the scene on foot immediately following the impact. However, with the assistance of the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office, officers successfully located and identified the suspect as Petra Cevallos.
Following an on-site assessment, officials determined that Cevallos was intoxicated at the time of the incident. She was subsequently arrested on charges related to Driving Under the Influence (DUI).
