A suspect is expected to appear in court Thursday morning in connection with an incident that resulted in the death of a woman at Hotel UMass on Wednesday evening, according to prosecutors.
Officials from the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office have not yet released the identity of the suspect or specific charges at this time. The arraignment is scheduled to take place at Eastern Hampshire District Court, where more details may be shared.
Investigators indicated that the suspect and the woman were known to each other. Authorities also confirmed that neither individual is affiliated as a student with the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
