Miami-Dade authorities have identified the individuals involved in a shooting incident at an apartment complex earlier this week that left one man dead and a woman injured. The incident took place shortly before 4 p.m. on Tuesday at the Monte Carlo Apartments on Northwest 72nd Avenue, just south of State Road 836. The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies were dispatched to the scene following multiple calls about gunfire and a female victim who had been shot.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered a 46-year-old woman, Yudaisy Salgueiro, lying on the ground with visible gunshot wounds. She was immediately transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where she is currently receiving treatment. Officials have not released additional details about her condition but have confirmed that her injuries were serious.

While on the scene, deputies were directed by witnesses to the fourth floor of the apartment building, where they located an apartment with an open door. Inside, they encountered a man identified as 50-year-old Javier Albriza Jara. Surveillance video captured deputies in tactical gear entering the building as part of the response.

An exchange of gunfire occurred between Jara and three deputies. When officers entered the apartment following the confrontation, they found Jara dead inside. Authorities have not disclosed what prompted the shooting or whether there was any connection between Jara and Salgueiro, leaving that aspect of the investigation unresolved.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) has taken over the case to conduct a review, which is standard procedure for any police-involved shooting. The investigation will examine the circumstances surrounding the incident, including the actions of both the deputies and the individuals involved.

The sequence of events highlights the intensity of the confrontation and the swift response of law enforcement to an active shooting situation. Witness reports and surveillance footage have been key elements in reconstructing what occurred, though officials have yet to release all materials to the public.

The Monte Carlo Apartments, where the incident occurred, is a residential complex that has drawn increased attention due to the severity of this event. Residents and neighbors were reportedly alarmed by the gunfire and the heavy police presence, emphasizing the impact of such incidents on local communities.

Authorities are urging anyone with additional information or footage from the area to come forward to assist in the investigation. While the FDLE continues to gather evidence and statements, the exact relationship between Salgueiro and Jara remains unknown.

As the investigation continues, officials stress the importance of public safety and are advising residents in the area to remain vigilant. Updates on Salgueiro’s condition and further findings about the shootout are expected as the FDLE completes its review of the case.
